Casstrom No.14 Swedish Forest Knife Curly Birch with Firesteel
Another superb knife by Casstrom is the SFK No.14! Longer blade than the original SFK which gives you an extra 1.5" of cutting length! Coupled with the robust full-tang construction, the large blade of the No.14 SFK has the length to handle bigger tasks and will satisfy all your bushcraft, survival, or hunting needs - this is a knife that excels at bushcraft but also carves well. The A8 Mod steel has been selected for its toughness.
All Casström knives are cryo-quenched. Cryogenic hardening is a treatment process where the steel is cooled to very cold temperatures with the use of liquid nitrogen. This enhances the performance of the steel at a molecular level and in practical terms, gives the blade more wear resistance and is less prone to chipping compared to a blade with the same hardness that was not cryogenically quenched
- Hand-finished oiled Curly Birch handle with a slim ergonomic design that gives a warm and comfortable feeling of natural wood.
- The fire striker steel has a matching handle and an Auermetall ferro-rod that consistently gives an even shower of sparks, regardless of weather.
- Sturdy welted sheath in vegetable-tanned European leather with a draining hole.
- 14 cm blade in premium A8 Mod steel that holds an edge well even during very hard use such as wood splitting.
- Scandinavian grind, along with the steel properties, makes the knife robust, effective for wood carving, and easy to sharpen in the outdoors.
